Whenever I go to Cabo I HAVE to visit the Hotel Marquis Los Cabos, it’s a work of art. It is a gorgeous hotel of 237 suites filled with beautiful statues and Mexican art. You will find no timeshare sales or whatever you call them here.
It is strictly a luxury hotel with one of the Leading Spas of the World.
For me, it is like visiting an art gallery.
Let me take you on a tour of some of my favorite pieces.
Starting in the parking lot, there's actually quite a story to the bronze winged sculptures at the Marquis.
The tale behind the Angel Trilogy statues by Jorge Marin goes something like this: Angels were flying over the Baja looking for paradise. They were curious about this new place they saw.
As the Angels entered the lobby, a sense of peace and harmony came over them.
(Man and Woman)
Puzzled, they wandered to the main pool where certain they’d found serenity, The Angels shed their wings and made this heavenly place their home.
In looking through my photos I am missing two Angels who shed their wings, guess I'll just have to go back!
Ella Messerli, General Manager, told me The Angel Trilogy is a tribute to their Mission to create an atmosphere of the exemplary hospitality where life, work, business and pleasure is enjoyed.
Throughout the public areas and in each suite paintings by Agustin Castro can be found.
They are my favorite works of art at Hotel Marquis Los Cabos.
I wish I could photograph all 250+ of them!
Many guests favor the giant sculptures by Columbian artist, Mercedes Hoyos so much they have rubbed the finish off her finger! I couldn’t imagine how these giant sized sculptures were in installed. Ella told me they were brought in with a crane before the Marquis was complete.
They worried if the crane dropped them it would delay the opening by several months.
Fortunately, nothing went wrong!
This painting by Cuban artist Carlo Rios is found in the VIP Lounge.
LOVE these bowls of shell balls found around the hotel.
Whimsical folk art on the terrace and in the suites.
And these hand blown glass hearts bring us back to the lobby.
Hope you enjoyed my art walk of Hotel Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort
It's a shame the photos really dont capture the true beauty, you'll have to see it for yourself!
Have you ever stayed at a hotel with an incredible art collection?
