Take Me to the River – Hacienda Tres Rios

I hear the Talking Heads, "Take Me to the River" (click on the link, if you would like to hear the tune) in my head as I head to Hacienda Tres Rios (Tres Rios means 3 Rivers), in the Riviera Maya this week.

Over the past year I have developed a friendship on twitter with @TresRiosResort. We are very excited to be their guests this weekend and to share with you our adventures! Our itinerary is jam packed with all kinds of new experiences.

Hacienda Tres Rio was bestowed the honor of The Most Sustainable Resort Worldwide last weekend by  Green Globe International. It is a luxury all inclusive resort located about 45 minutes from the Cancun International Airport. Hacienda Tres Rios has 273 spacious suites surrounded by the 326 acre eocological  Tres Rios Nature Park with 1 mile of pristine beachfront. There are 3 rivers( as the name suggests), lush mangroves, 10 cenotes (natural wells) and much flora and fauna to be explored. The Hacienda boasts a 13,900 sq. ft spa and fitness center.  With 8 dining venues and 5 bars, we will surely find plenty of culinary delights to enjoy!

 I have my cell phone plan changed to allow me to tweet you our adventures. I am hoping it works this time, I had problems last year. If all else fails, there is wifi access in my suite.

4.00 p.m.             Spa Treatment: O’olkil Magical

6.30 p.m.             Welcome Dinner at the “Chef’s Table”   

FRIDAY AUGUST 20^TH, 2010

                           Early breakfast on your own

9.00 a.m.              Meeting at the lobby and transfer for a Nursery Tour

10.00 a.m.         Swimming at the “cenote” (Sinkhole)

11.30 a.m.           “Back of the House” Tour

12.10 p.m.           Sense Adventure Tour

 1.15-1.30 p.m.  Time to refresh…

1.30 p.m.             Pick up at the Resort and transfer to Hacienda Tres Marias

2.30 p.m.           Arrival and time for lunch at Hacienda Tres Marias

3.30 p.m.             Horseback Riding Tour

                 5.30 p.m.             Pick up at Hacienda Tres Marias and transfer to Hacienda Tres Rios Resort

                                Dinner at any of Hacienda Tres Rios Restaurants

                                 Rest of the evening at leisure…

 SATURDAY AUGUST 21^st, 2010

                                Breakfast on your own

11.30 a.m.           Pick up at the Resort and transfer to Admiral Yacht Club

12.30 p.m.           Arrival and check in for Isla Mujeres Tour on board a private yacht

12.45-1.00 p.m.                                 Boarding time

1.00-5.00 p.m.   Time to enjoy cruising the Caribbean blue waters to Isla Mujeres

Swimming and snorkelling tour

                                Lunch will be served on board

5.00 p.m.             Pick up at Admiral Yacht Club and transfer to Hacienda Tres Rios Resort

6.00 p.m.             Arrival time at the Resort

                                Dinner at any of Hacienda Tres Rios Restaurants

                                 Rest of the evening at leisure…

This evening I have a tweet up planned with old and new friends in Playa del Carmen,  I can hardly wait!

 Sunday, sadly-I am sure, we will return home.
